Bees prepared to let Tarkowski return north

Brentford are prepared to let James Tarkowski leave the club and return north.

Burnley want the centre-back and had a bid of £2.5m plus add-ons rejected by the Bees last week.

The Lancashire club remain keen to sign him and he would be allowed to leave Griffin Park if the Clarets increase their offer to around £4m – significantly less than Brentford have demanded previously.

Tarkowski is from Manchester, joined the Bees from Oldham in 2014, and would like to return to the region.

Brentford have therefore indicated that they are willing to let him do so if they receive an improved offer.

Sheffield Wednesday are interested in Tarkowski too, while Derby, Norwich and West Brom have also spoken to the player’s agent.
