Clubs show interest in Brentford star Jota

Everton, West Ham and Newcastle are interested in Brentford’s Jota.

Jota, 25, is under contract until 2018 and the Bees value him at £8m.

Brentford are open to discussing a new contract with the Spanish playmaker but are prepared to let him see out his current deal rather than sell for less than his valuation.

Jota was outstanding after returning from a loan spell at Spanish club Eibar in January, scoring 12 goals in 27 appearances.

He joined Brentford from Celta Vigo in 2014 and was unsettled in London before an 18-month loan deal was agreed with Eibar in January last year.

Jota returned to Griffin Park six months early and his excellent performances have attracted the attention of top-flight clubs.
