Brentford CEO expects Jota to stay

Brentford chief executive Mark Devlin has told Sky Sports HQ that he expects Jota to still be at the club next season.

West London Sport recently revealed that Everton, West Ham and Newcastle have been showing an interest in the Spanish playmaker.

Jota returned from a loan spell with Eibar in his native Spain in January and was outstanding for the Bees during the second half of the season, scoring 12 goals for Dean Smith’s side.

“As far as we are concerned, Jota will be playing his football at Griffin Park next season,” said Devlin.

“Jota came back into the side in January and was fantastic for the final few months of the season.

“It’s no surprise he’s been catching the eye but Jota and the rest of the squad will be back in pre-season in July.”
