Burnley consider new offer for Tarkowski

Burnley are considering making a second bid for Brentford centre-back James Tarkowski.

The Clarets saw a £2.5m offer plus-add-ons rejected for the 23-year old earlier this week.

He then refused to play in Friday’s Championship game between the two sides, which Burnley won 3-1.

The Lancashire club have also made an offer for Alan Judge, which is being discussed by the Brentford board.

Burnley manager Sean Dyche defended his club’s pursuit of Tarkowski and said: “There’s been a conversation between the owners and maybe there will be (another bid).

“I believe in the way our club goes about its business. It’s a market we try to use in a sensible and respectful manner.

“If people decide to put things in the media then it’s up to them. I don’t speak to the media.

“But it’s the transfer window. Players move clubs, deals get done. We lost three of our own in the summer.”
