Brentford youngster goes out on loan

Brentford defender Daniel O’Shaughnessy has joined Conference side Braintree Town on a month-long loan deal.

The Finland Under-21 international is expected to be in the Iron’s squad for Tuesday night’s game against Woking and will be with them until 19 October.

O’Shaughnessy, who signed for the Bees last year, has played five times for the club’s Under-21s this season, scoring once.

Born in Finland, but with Irish dual-nationality, he began his career with HJK Helsinki and had a trial with Liverpool in 2011.

Prior to joining Brentford, O’Shaughnessy spent three years with French club FC Metz.
