Brentford playmaker Jota joins Eibar

Jota has returned to Spain, signing for Eibar on an 18-month loan deal.

Brentford confirmed on Saturday afternoon that the 24-year-old has joined the La Liga outfit after agreeing an option to extend his contract at Griffin Park, which expires in 2017.

The club announced that Jota had moved in order to “work through some personal issues that require him to be in Spain rather than west London” and that the Bees have the option to recall him during the next two transfer windows.

Jota had a loan spell at Eibar prior to joining Brentford from Celta Vigo in 2014.
