Brentford confirm McCormack will be leaving

Brentford have announced they are releasing Alan McCormack at the end of the season.

The Irishman will leave Griffin Park this summer when his contract expires.

McCormack has spent four years at Brentford, helping them win promotion from League One and become established in the Championship.

He has made 103 appearances for the club since being signed from Swindon Town and was Brentford’s player of the year in 2014.

“I would like to thank Alan for all his efforts while he has been at Brentford,” boss Dean Smith told the club’s website.

“Alan has suffered with injuries since I have been here but has played his part in a period of success for the club over the past four years. I wish him all the best for the future.”
