Bid from Wigan for Forshaw is accepted

Brentford have accepted a bid from Wigan for midfielder Adam Forshaw.

The 22-year-old has been the subject of two previous bids from the Latics this summer, which were both rejected.

But Forshaw will now discuss personal terms with Wigan, who are managed by former Bees boss Uwe Rosler.

Current Brentford manager Mark Warburton, who was unhappy with Wigan’s previous approach, said: “Our valuation has been met so we have given permission to Adam to meet and talk with Wigan.

“Brentford did not need to sell Adam and we will not be dictated to by any individual or potential buying club in such situations.

“Now that this matter is near conclusion, I would like to wish Adam all the very best for his career and to thank him for his outstanding efforts over the last two years.”

Forshaw has made 82 league appearances for Brentford since arriving from Everton in 2012, initially on loan.
