Bees sign striker Proschwitz from Hull

Brentford have signed German striker Nick Proschwitz from Hull City on a free transfer.

The 27-year-old has agreed a one-year contract at Griffin Park with the option of a further two years.

He spent two years with Hull but his first-team opportunities were limited and he made only 37 appearances, 25 of them as a substitute.

Proschwitz still managed to score seven goals for the Tigers and netted four times during a three-month loan spell at Barnsley last season.

Mark Warburton was keen to add another striker to his squad and Proschwitz’s arrival is the Brentford manager’s eighth summer signing as the promoted club prepare for life in the Championship.

They have also signed Alan Judge, Marcos Tébar, Andre Gray, Moses Odubajo, Scott Hogan and Tommy Smith, while Tottenham youngster Alex Pritchard has been brought in on loan.
