Bees reject bid from MK Dons for Grigg

Brentford have turned down an offer from MK Dons for striker Will Grigg.

The 23-year-old has enjoyed a successful season-long loan with the Dons, scoring 22 goals in 50 appearances.

The League One club are keen to sign him on a permanent deal but their first offer has fallen short of Brentford’s valuation of £1m.

Brentford signed Grigg from Walsall in 2013 for an initial £325,000 – a fee that was decided by tribunal.

Walsall were paid a further £30,000 after he made 20 first-team appearances and £50,000 after Brentford were promoted to the Championship.

The Saddlers will also land 20% of any transfer fee if Grigg is sold to another club. He has a year of his Brentford contract left to run.
