Bees boss waits for news on McCormack

Brentford manager Mark Warburton is waiting to discover the extent of an injury suffered by Alan McCormack during the 3-1 defeat at Bolton.

McCormack was stretchered off midway through the second half after being hurt as he attempted to burst between two Wanderers players.

“He’s being assessed by the medical team now,” Warburton explained after the game.

“He got between the two players and as he fell I think two or three bodies ended up on top of him, so we’re assessing him now and we’ll see how he is.”

Brentford had chances to score in the first half and were on top early in the second before losing their way.

Neil Danns fired the home side ahead and Mark Davies doubled their lead. Substitute Jon Toral pulled a goal back before Craig Davies made it 3-1 in the final seconds.

It left the Bees to rue the second-half spell in which they lost control of the game.

Warburton admitted: “We didn’t take care of the ball during that period. We had a bad 12 minutes.

“Apart from that I thought we were the better team. We created some chances and we felt we could get some joy here today.

“But there was a spell between 60 and 70 minutes where we have to do better. The first goal was a bad one to give away.”
