Bees boss frustrated by missed chances

Boss Mark Warburton was left to rue a string of missed chances as Brentford’s fine run of form came to an end at Huddersfield.

Five wins on the spin had earned Warburton the Championship manager of the month award for November but the Bees were beaten 2-1 at the John Smith’s Stadium, despite applying constant pressure in the closing stages.

Warburton said: “I thought first half, when we passed forward and penetrated, we looked very dangerous. We cut through almost at will but were not clinical enough.

“We came out in the second half and got the sucker punch early on with the own goal, but then for half an hour we’ve totally dominated.

“There were a couple of great saves from their keeper but we haven’t taken our chances and we’ve paid the price.

“We pressed very hard, got forward more and more and created lots of chances. I thought we did enough to get something out of today’s game.”
