Scotland winger Visser to join Harlequins

Harlequins have added Edinburgh and Scotland winger Tim Visser to their squad for next season.

The 27-year-old was the Pro 12’s leading try-scorer four seasons in a row between 2009 and 2013.

Although born in the Netherlands, Visser qualified to play for Scotland in June 2012 and has gone on to win 18 caps for his adopted country.

His seven international tries include two New Zealand in a Test in 2012 and a couple in the 2013 Six Nations championship.

It will be Visser’s second spell in the Premiership, having spent two years at Newcastle Falcons.

He also has experience of playing at Twickenham, winning the Middlesex Sevens with the Falcons and then scoring twice for the Barbarians against England in 2011.

Quins director of rugby Conor O’Shea said: “Tim is and always has been a finisher and with the margins between winning and losing so small, players like him can be the difference.

“He is a great man, who is really driven to succeed.

“We are looking forward to welcoming him to Harlequins next season.”
